This 1.5 storey loadbearing straw house in Anglesey, Wales was built by local contractors and participants on SNaB training courses. It has an internal floor area of 109㎡ and was designed with disabled access in mind, having a simple ground floor layout with ramped access to the front door.
The Welsh slate pitched roof gives the property a traditional cosiness typical of other nearby cottages and is in keeping with the area’s industrial identity. Natural materials are blended throughout, with an external lime render and FSC accredited timber windows and doors. All paints and finishes have been made from plant based oils.
