Designed by Jenny Humphreys from Simpson & Brown Architects as two timber frame and straw buildings, the Donkey House and Garage near Stirling, Scotland were the final elements to a very ‘green’ project, where 2 existing farm cottages were re-modelled and extended.
Muffin the Donkey was the last to move – Barbara Jones and Bee Rowan of Amazon Nails helped to build his new cosy house and next door garage in 2003 by running training courses. The buildings were finished with lime harling and limewash to match the main house, and a sedum blanket roof to marry it to the landscape. See www.simpsonandbrown.co.uk
